Fits up to a 3‑bedroom

Drawn to scale. The door is 1'5" lower than the inside, so tall pieces have to be tilted in.

Room inside is length × width × height of the cargo box; U‑Haul quotes 2,057 cu ft, measured its own way (including the space over the cab). U‑Haul sells this as a 29' truck: the floor is 26'2", and the rest of the 29' is the 2'7" space over the cab.

Which home sizes fit

Each home size is a typical furniture list plus the box counts from a moving guide. Our packing fills about 70–80% of a truck; a careful pro load fits more.

Will big items fit?

Tightest fits first. Headroom is the space left above it as loaded; at the door is the clearance getting it in.

Notes on these numbers

SOURCE CAVEAT: every uhaul.com fetch returned ECONNRESET; all values come from WebSearch results that quote uhaul.com pages (the search tool returns a summarized answer with quoted fragments, not the raw page), so check asWritten punctuation against the live page before publishing. U‑Haul states all rental truck and trailer measurements are approximate. Not in the requested list but in U‑Haul's current lineup (new model). Air-ride suspension lowers the rear deck from 34" to 30"; press release gives a 16.8-degree ramp angle when lowered. EZ-Load ramp width 2'7". Max load disagreement: the page's structured data shows 12,859 lbs. (the 26' figure, likely a copy error); press release calls 11,939 the payload. A U‑Haul comparison article says 2,056 cu. ft. outsideHeight is 'Clearance height' (a U‑Haul article says 'under 12 feet'). Towing up to 10,000 lbs. Deck height is given as a range ("30-34""), so it is left out. Outside sizes are left out on purpose: the source gives a clearance height or numbers from another page, not the box size. Cross-check 29 Oct 2026, inside.length: TheDrive and Jalopnik (both quoting U‑Haul's launch spec list) say 29'2", but TheDrive also gives Floor Length 26' and the press release says '26 ft. floor, 3 ft. Mom's Attic'. UPack says 26'2". 29'2" appears to include the over-cab space; the floor is about 26'. Used the smallest current value (26'2") instead of 29'2". Wheel wells (29 Oct 2026): No source says whether the floor is flat or has wells; not modelled.

Loading tips for this truck

  • The door is 7'4" high but the inside is 8'9": tall furniture has to be tilted to get in, then stood up.
  • Use the over-cab space (2'7" deep, 3'2" high) for boxes and light, fragile things.
  • Load heavy furniture and appliances first, against the cab wall, and boxes last on top.
